How to feel alive all the time?

“ Kabhi Kabhi toh lage Zindagi me rahi na khushi aur na maza

  Kabhi Kabhi toh lage har din mushkil aur har pal ek saza

  Aise me koi kaise muskuraaye, kaise has de khush hoke

  Aur kaise koi sochle everything Gonna Be Okay...”

{ A song by Rashid Ali; Movie: Jane Tu Ya Jane Na }

Imagine, it’s night you are lying on your bed thinking of your entire day with a smile and eagerly waiting for the next day to come. How often do you experience such moments in your life? There comes a time in our lives when we kind of start losing all our will to do things. A point where we are confused about what to do or from where we should start. Absolutely nothing or no one is enough to cheer us up and we tend to lose interest in everything around us. In other words, we just don’t feel alive anymore. And honestly, not every point in time we will have someone like Jay to cheer us up as he did to Aditi   (In the film JANE TU YA JANE NA). Yes, a bit of our spirit has been killed in this pandemic. Well, now that you are here, I have an incident to share with you which I am sure, will be helpful for many of you.

So, one fine day my friend and I scheduled to watch a film in the evening. It was a lockdown then so we decided to watch it together, virtually. How? We connected over call and made the film sync in our desktops. But before we started my friend asked me,

“Did you realize something today? We were so excited about the evening today, weren’t we? All our usual daily stuff wasn’t boring. We completed our works faster as we were more operative & energetic today and all this happened just because we planned something different from regular. You know this is why we should have small different goals in our everyday life.”

His words took me back to my school days when I never really had a boring or slouched lifestyle, not even on holidays. Do you remember your exam days? No one liked those days much but these small events or goals used to keep us alive.  Whether we like it or not but the accomplishment of such goals used to bring a sense of relief and contentment. We use to sleep with eagerness for the next day. So, yes every one of us needs to have small daily goals, be it a self-development or self refreshment one, to feel alive all the time.

Now GOALS here is not limited to career goals but any small or big planned activity for the day will be enough to keep you active for the entire day. Something which you really like or you would like that thing to be a part of your life and who knows these everyday activities may help to decide the ultimate goal of your life. It will also help you understand yourself better no matter which generation person you are or what’s your age as “AGE IS JUST A NUMBER AND NUMBERS ARE MAGICAL”. Having said that I will also like to add that there are times when these suggestions don’t work depending upon the situation but you know what?

“Kabhi Kabhi,

Sare jahan mai andhera hota h

Lekin raat ke hi baad to savera hota h...”

Someone who has not seen the darkness in the recent past will not understand the importance of the coming brightness in his or her life. Ups and downs are part of our life, it keeps balance and balance in life keeps it interesting or else it would have been boring.

Hope this was helpful for you. Let me know in the comment section about your views on this and what are the things which make you feel alive. Also, go listen to this song right now, I guarantee you an instant smile on your face.
